I hired Maggie back in August 2021 to help me prepare several years of back tax returns. She assured me she could handle the project and I paid $1000 up front as a retainer. It is now nearly January 2022 and not a single return has been filed. I've asked weekly for progress updates and have been told on separate occasions that the returns are 80% done, that they will be sent the next day for review, that she's waiting for her software to be updated so she can file them, and so on. This person has not followed through on a single promise so far. I've now set a final deadline of January 7, 2022 for all work to be submitted and invoiced. I will update this review with the final result of my project at that time. As of now, things aren't looking good. UPDATE: 4 January 2022. I moved my deadline up and notified Maggie that I would need to have all work and an invoice for payment submitted by the end of December 2021. She replied that she would send me the work by that deadline. I have not received any work, nor any further messages from her explaining why she did not send the work. This failure to deliver after 4 long months of waiting has put me in a very difficult position tax-wise. I've transferred my project to another tax preparer and sent Maggie a PayPal request for a refund (which she has so far ignored). I filed a complaint with Thumbtack and will also leave this review on Google and file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. My advice: don't hire this person. But if you do, set a firm early deadline. If she misses it move on. She will promise and promise and promise that everything will be done in just a couple more days and before you know it, you've lost 4 months of time.

I hired Marguerite Thompson to prepare my tax return for 2020. It took her around 3 weeks to complete the paperwork but after a few emails and phone calls she finally submitted my forms and provided me with the report. Considering the fact I am single and do not have dependents or a mortgage the price I paid was not cheap - over $350. I received all my tax returns except for 1 - PA local tax. I contacted Ms. Thompson and she replied "I will research and get back to you". Her "research" took 1 month and she did not respond to my emails and phone calls during that time. I had to find the issue myself. She forgot to send 1 document to me to sign and it was never submitted to the tax authority. As of now I still have not got my local tax return. I emailed the tax authority and they told me I am not eligible for that return. I am not sure if that was Ms Thompson's mistake to say I would receive those local taxes back. Her last email said "I will research and get back to you this week". It has been over 2 weeks now... I will have to hire another tax preparer to fix that mess

I was recommended by a coworker who knew someone who does their taxes with her regularly. I went to her with my 2018 documents a year ago she said it wouldn’t be an issue to prepare my returns. She worked on them but they were incorrect. I have called her office, cel phone and sent numerous emails asking for an update and she has yet to give me one. To say I am extremely disappointed is an understatement. I am an Active Duty Soldier needing to have my 2018 and now 2019 returns prepared. I trusted Maggie and now see she is unreliable. I have been extremely patient with her but now I have to find someone to prepare 2 years worth of taxes. Unbelievable.

Most people can use a big Tax Preparation company where you get any of the 1000 workers there. I wanted more. My business has a lot going on and I required someone with vast knowledge and decades of experience in accounting. I did not want fast food accoutants. Marguerite knew exactly what I needed and how to do it and was able to answer the questions I had prepared to test her. She is still my accountant and I love how helpful she is.

Contacted them to prepare my taxes last May for my business 2019 taxes. Excuses and then they ghosted me . Don't waste your time.
