It is unfortunate to write this review, I had a long standing customer relationship with Jeff Lin and his team. His team did my tax preparation for five years, and given investments and personal situations, I never questioned the price I was charged each year. For 2014, my tax preparation was simplified, and an expectation that my tax preparation and the fees associated would be significantly less. I was less than enthused that it took nearly two months, including numerous emails requesting status, or asking if more documents were required to get my completed return. I was also extremely concerned with the invoice I received for the services provided. I shared my invoice with other CPAs that I trust, as well as looked online for the average cost for tax services. It was clear to me that the fees I was charged were two times higher what I feel I should have been charged. Upon questioning these prices, Jeff Lin did follow-up via email and speak to me (this was my first interaction with him in a number of years, I communicated with Winston on his team the past few years). The conversation was not pleasant, and I will not be using his firm moving forward. A few things to note if you do decide to use this company for services; 1. It will take a long time, and expect to follow-up with them more than they do with you. 2. the "standard" fees are high, and I question the level of effort compared to the cost charged. 3. Ask which team member is doing your return. While I agree there is value in using a CPA for tax services, the fees charged are overpriced, and the professionalism I experienced unacceptable.
