Worked with Mike while he was still in Rockville based on recommendations from a Friend. Got audited once and panicked but learned how to do my own taxes in the process. Received a hefty return today and wished I could buy him a beer. Started doing my own taxes in 2020 inspired by his 2013 work. Will never allow anyone else to do my taxes again.

Been working with Michael Fine for about 3 or 4 years. He's always able to fit us in to do our taxes, even when we're cutting it kind of...fine (sorry). His staff are great, too. They're efficient and do a great job; we feel confident that we're complying with all the rules and not missing any opportunities for returns. Bonus: their new location is just across the street from the best Pho place in the area (Pho 75)

I would not recommend them. It has been a struggle working with this office from the beginning — my first appointment was rescheduled. Then I heard nothing from my accountant for weeks until I emailed her asking for an update (about a week before tax day). They prepped my invoice on the Friday before tax day. I was traveling and wasn't able to log in to their system for a couple days. When I tried to identify myself to sign my returns, turns out they had my social security number wrong. We had to redo the signing process. Communication was confusing and lacking (for example, no one informed me that there are two different ways to sign. I would just receive different emails). Someone forgot to "turn off" the first signing option after sending me the second option, so I kept receiving emails bugging me to sign. Even the most basic things seem to be a struggle. I do not plan using their services again — the whole point of using an accountant is to make tax preparation stress-free!

For the 7th year in a row, Finesse has made the normally-painful tax filing process quite painless. Michael and his staff guide us through to make sure everything is filed on time, their knowledge of tax rules and advice is fantastic.
